PowerDIN 4PZ
PowerDIN 4PZ is a dual 110-230V / Max 16A electricity meter with LAN/WiFi and I/O, designed to fit on a DIN rail. Enables control over the Web, NETIO Cloud, Open API. Each of the 4 outputs can be switched on or off independently using the Web interface, or with Open API and NETIO Cloud. States of two dry contact digital inputs (including S0 pulse counts) can be also read remotely. Integration with third-party systems using various protocols (JSON, Modbus/TCP, SNMP, MQTT-flex, Telnet, ...) is easy thanks to the Open API.
NETIO PowerDIN 4PZ is a 2-channel 110-230V/ Max 16A electricity meter with relays at outputs and LAN (Ethernet) or WiFi connectivity.
Using the product’s web interface, the device can be configured, the measured values can be read and each of the 4 outputs can be switched on or off.
Open API enables integration with third-party systems using a wide range of protocols (JSON, Modbus/TCP, SNMP, MQTT, Telnet, ..).
NETIO Cloud is a SSL-secured service that allows controlling the outputs from anywhere (using a Web browser or Open API cloud services). More about NETIO Cloud
The NETIO Mobile2 app controls each output individually over LAN (local network) or NETIO Cloud. >> More about NETIO Mobile
Open API allows controlling the device over the network using various protocols (http XML/JSON, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, SNMP, Telnet and more...).
AV drivers make it easy to connect NETIO sockets to professional Audio/Video systems such as NEETS, ELAN, CRESTRON, Control4 and more.
Third-party partners provide various SW solutions that can be integrated with NETIO products (Nagios, PRTG, Grafana, Prometheus, Node-Red and more.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
OPEN API: SUPPORTED M2M PROTOCOLS
The open API can use one protocol at a time, chosen from among the supported M2M protocols:
Modbus/TCP | AN27, | AN22 | AN37 |
---|---|---|---|
MQTT-flex | AN40 | ||
Telnet | AN10 | ||
http URL API | AN19 | AN29 | |
JSON over HTTP (default) | AN21, | AN30 | AN42 |
http Push JSON | |||
http Push XML | |||
XML over HTTP | AN20 | AN31 | |
SNMP v1 | AN11 | AN41 | |
SNMP v3 |
The SNMP protocol can be always used in parallel to one of other APIs. Regardless of the Open API used, the PowerDIN 4PZ can be always controlled from its web interface and from the NETIO Cloud service at the same time. The customer may use one Open API protocol and the NETIO Cloud service simultaneously.

LAN / WI-FI
The product can be connected to one network only at a time. When a live RJ45 (Ethernet) connection is detected, the product uses the LAN. When the RJ45 cable is disconnected or the link layer is inactive, the product switches to WiFi.
For the WiFi connection, the product uses an internal antenna. When installed a metal cabinet, its range will be very limited.
The WiFi connection can be configured using the AP mode, or with the NFC interface and the NETIO Mobile2 app.
NETIO CLOUD
The product can be connected to NETIO Cloud. Control 100 outputs from a single web screen. NETIO Cloud is an ideal solution for remote control and restarting. The NETIO Cloud service is a paid service.
INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT QUALITY
ZCS (ZERO CURRENT SWITCHING)
NETIO PowerDIN 4PZ can switch the metered outputs 1 and 2 when the immediate current crosses the zero level. ZCS significantly extends the lifetime of relay contacts when switching “problematic” appliances, such as LED lights or electric motors.
POWER-UP STATE
For some applications, it is important to set the power socket state immediately after the device is powered on (or the power is restored after a failure). With some machines it is important to avoid momentary switch-on or switch-off. This parameter therefore defines the behavior of the 110/230V output power socket before the standard communication with a master system starts to work.
Power-Up sequence (switching outputs on with a delay)
When the power is restored after an outage, electrical appliances can be switched on in sequence with certain delays in order to avoid an overload and the tripping of circuit breakers. With the PowerDIN 4PZ, use these parameters: “Power-Up state” = ON / LAST, and “Output PowerUp interval” = power-up delay before switching that particular output on.
POWER MEASUREMENT
NETIO PowerDIN 4PZ measures electrical parameters for outputs 1 and 2 separately. Measured values are displayed in the web administration interface and are accessible via M2M protocols. PowerDIN 4PZ measures with accuracy better than 1% in the entire operating temperature range.
Use cases for the remotely controlled electricity meter
MOBILE APPLICATION
PowerDIN 4PZ can be controlled over the local network using the NETIO Mobile 2 app (for Android mobile devices)
For the moment, NETIO Mobile 2 is not available for iOS users. We recommend using third-party apps:
SCHEDULER FUNCTION (CALENDAR)
With the Scheduler function, each output can be switched on and off automatically at pre-defined times and days-of-week. A schedule is useful for saving energy and periodic restarts of other equipment.
NFC PRE-CONFIG - WI-FI CONFIGURATION IN 60 SECONDS
The WiFi network (SSID and password) to which the device connects at the installation site can be configured without even turning the device on. Our mobile application (NETIO Mobile 2) transfers the configuration from a phone or a tablet over NFC. This technology significantly reduces the installation time when connecting many devices to your WiFi network.
More about Scheduler functionFAQ
To reset the device to factory defaults, lift the top plate and press the button underneath it. Hold the button pressed and plug in the device. Keep the button pressed. About 10 seconds after powering up, the green LED flashes 3 times and factory default settings are restored (Load to defaults).
For the current procedure, see the supplied QIG (Quick Installation Guide) for the product.
It is available for download at this page, and a hardcopy may be included in the product package.
Each output 230V (Out 1, Out 2) can supply up to 16A. However, the input terminals of the device are rated at max 16A.
Only up to 16A in total may flow through the device.
Yes, using relay outputs 3 and 4 only. Metered outputs 1 and 2 are connected to 230V mains.
S0 is an industry-standard pulse output of electricity meters, water meters, gas meters, and so on.
In effect, these pulses correspond to the closing of a mechanical contact for 30 to 70 ms.
Yes, the device remembers the counter state even after a power outage.
Yes, NETIO PowerDIN 4PZ supports the Scheduler (calendar) function.
If Scheduler function is not available in your device, update your firmware to highest possible version.
Yes, level 3 protection is included.
MQTT-flex is a NETIO extension of the standard MQTT protocol. The extension uses a configuration text file to specify the MQTT message structure, the MQTT broker address where messages are sent, and the periodicity. In this way, a complete configuration of the MQTT communication can be transferred in a single text file.
